Blocking Modes & Actions

Bloq gives you full control over how incoming calls are handled. Choose your protection level and how blocked calls are treated.

Blocking Modes

Choose how aggressively Bloq protects you.

Block All Unknown

Blocks all calls from numbers not in your contacts or trusted list. Maximum protection: only people you know can reach you. Contacts, trusted list numbers, whitelist patterns, and repeat callers always get through.

Blocklist Only

Only blocks numbers explicitly in your blocklist or matching a block pattern. All other calls ring normally, including unknown numbers. Best for users who only want to block specific known spam numbers.

Off

Bloq does not block any calls. All calls ring normally. The app continues to function and your settings, lists, and rules are preserved, but no screening happens.

Block Actions

Choose what happens when a call is blocked.

Silent Reject

The call is silently blocked. The caller hears ringing and can leave a voicemail. Your phone never rings, never vibrates. You won't even know someone tried to call. This is the recommended option because it keeps the door open for voicemail from legitimate callers.

Reject with Busy

The call is blocked and the caller receives a busy signal immediately. Your phone never rings. Note: the caller knows the call was actively rejected, which may signal that the number is active.

Defaults

Out of the box, Bloq uses Block All Unknown mode with Silent Reject. During onboarding, you choose between Block All Unknown and Blocklist Only. You can change everything in Settings at any time.
