Pattern Rules

Instead of blocking numbers one by one, pattern rules let you block (or allow) entire groups of numbers that share a common sequence.

Match Types

Starts With

Matches numbers that begin with the pattern. Example: '0800' blocks all toll-free numbers.

Ends With

Matches numbers that end with the pattern. Example: '0000' blocks numbers ending in 0000.

Contains

Matches numbers that have the pattern anywhere. Example: '12345' blocks any number containing that sequence.

Block Patterns

Numbers matching a block pattern are blocked. Use these to block entire categories like toll-free (0800), premium (0900), or specific telemarketing prefixes.

Allow Patterns

Numbers matching an allow pattern are always allowed through. Allow patterns take priority over block patterns. If a number matches both, it is allowed. Use these to protect a company prefix or a specific area code.

Presets

When adding a block pattern, Bloq offers ready-made presets: International calls, Toll-free numbers, Premium numbers, and Private numbers. One tap to add.

Tips

  • Patterns match against the normalized number (digits only, with country code). Use '55' instead of '+55'.
  • Each pattern can be individually enabled or disabled without deleting it.
  • Add an optional label to remember why you created a pattern (e.g., 'Telemarketing prefix').
